First Baptist Anderson consists of people who love God and love each other as a part of the family of God. We strive to make Psalm 37:4-5 our mission as we Delight in the Lord, Commit to the Lord, Trust in the Lord, and Do the Work of the Lord so that God gets all the glory!

DELIGHT

 

Oftentimes when reading Psalm 37, we skip over delighting ourselves in the Lord and rush right into Him giving us the desires of our heart. That is like eating dessert first, but foregoing our meat and vegetables: sweet, but not sustaining. To delight in God, we have to know Him, spend time with Him, and prioritize our relationship with HIm.

 

COMMIT

When we delight in the Lord, we fall more in love with Him and that gives us a deeper desire to commit our lives to Him in service and living.

 

TRUST

​

Trust comes with love. As we are delighting in God, committed to serving God, and living in His Word, we are able to trust Him when life is good and when life is bad through assurances found in the Word of God.

 

DO

 

We are not saved by our works, but works are evidence that we are saved. God gave us the Great Commission that the first word is, "Go!" We want to be a church that is willing to do whatever it takes to reach people for the sake of Christ.
